About the Brand

Decent gear!
This spur gear is pretty decent, it's basically standard on the HPI Blitz. If you center it right and set your mesh correctly, it's really durable. I've been using mine nearly every day for a year now (even with a brushless upgrade!) and it hasn't stripped. If you're finding that your gears are stripping and it's driving you nuts, check these two things.1. Make sure the gear's centered properly. It's easy to install it off center by accident. Spin it a bit and see if it feels tighter or looser as it turns; if it does, then it's not centered right.2. Get your gear mesh right. The pinion shouldn't touch the spur when the car's idle. You should be able to rest a finger on top of the spur, wiggle it a bit, and hear a click between the spur and pinion because of the gap. The gap between the pinion and spur should be about as thick as a piece of paper.Hope this helps :)
