Great Upgrade, Should Be Stock
Got a Redcat Volcano S30 from a friend and decided to slap a Traxxas 2.5R engine on it. That's when I started noticing all the weak spots in the drive-line, especially the spur gear. After switching to this steel gear, I noticed a bit of a drop in launch power and speed because it's heavier, but no more failures with the spur gear! Was surprised to see that the stock clutch bell gear seems really tough, as there's no more wear on it since I added this gear.If you're planning to upgrade your Redcat with a better engine, I totally recommend this steel spur gear. It's a must-have.Another weak point are the factory ring and pinion gears in the differentials. But good news, HPI RS4 and MT2 gears fit right in and give you a bunch of maintenance-free operation. Def recommend checking those out too.
