Traxxas Mini Slash 4X4 RTR Short Course Truck (Orange)

The Traxxas Mini Slash® 4X4 is a short course truck in Mini scale, built on the Mini Slash platform. It is Ready-To-Race® (RTR), so it arrives as a complete truck. Top speed is 30+ mph. Traxxas rates it skill level 1, which suits beginners.

Motor

The truck is powered by the BL-2s 3300 Kv motor, a sensorless brushless type. It has an integrated cooling fan, a low-maintenance design and efficient ball bearings. The motor connects through a Traxxas Quick Connect Motor Plug.

Speed control

The BL-2s Electronic Speed Control is a waterproof brushless unit with forward and reverse. It has Traxxas EZ-Set® one-button setup and built-in two-stage low-voltage detection. Thermal protection comes from a two-stage thermal shutdown. The heat sink accepts accessory cooling fan (3340), and the ESC also has an auxiliary fan port.

It offers three programmable drive profiles:

• Sport Mode: forward / brake / reverse
• Race Mode: forward / brake
• Training Mode™: 50% forward / brake / 50% reverse

Radio and steering

The radio system is TQ 2.4 GHz with 2 channels. The transmitter is full-size and gives all-day comfort with precise long-range control. Steering runs through the 1/10 scale 2056 waterproof high-torque servo. The truck also has heavy-duty double-shear bellcranks and a cam-operated servo saver.

Drivetrain

The truck has full-time shaft-driven 4WD with a 1/10 scale driveline. Its 1/10 scale extreme-duty telescoping driveshafts carry power to the wheels. Drive is direct, so there is no transmission. The truck has a fixed gear mesh system and large 32-pitch gears, backed by sealed planetary steel-gear differentials.

Chassis and battery access

The truck has a New Extended Mini Chassis with a longer 9.25 inches (235 mm) wheelbase. The chassis is modular, with interlocking front and rear bulkheads. It absorbs and distributes impact energy. The chassis is easy to service, and components are easy to access. The driveline is sealed in the chassis to keep out dirt.

Easy battery access is part of the design. The battery is protected deep in the chassis. The modular strap has a removable spacer for tall batteries. The battery hold-down pivots for easy access and is more secure than conventional retention systems. The battery compartment measures 113 mm L x 41 mm W x 22 mm H.

Suspension and shocks

The suspension has heavy duty, double-shear suspension arms in a dual wishbone design. The outer suspension components are extra tough. The truck uses Oil-Filled Ultra Shocks™ with the same construction as 1/10 shocks. They have a large oil capacity and are easy to tune.

Body and protection

The truck has a clipless body with a realistic injection-molded interior, a driver figure and replica netting. Integrated cooling channels for the ESC and motor are built into the body. The body is quick and easy to install and remove. Nerf bar channels give side body support. The body is also reinforced for extra protection against tearing.

The truck has bumpers and skid plates. A full-width front bumper and a high-angle front skid plate take the knocks up front. Rugged interlocking skid plates are joined by a smooth undertray that eliminates snags. Integrated nerf bars add side impact resistance.

Wheels, tires and hardware

The truck rolls on licensed BFGoodrich® Mud Terrain™ T/A® KM3 tires. Their internal ribbed design uses no foam inserts, and the rubber compound is high-traction. The wheels are replica Maxx Slash wheels. Hex hardware has a rust-resistant black oxide coating. The truck has sealed ball bearings.

What's in the box

A battery and a charger come in the box. The battery is a high-capacity 2-cell LiPo rated at 7.4 volts and 3500 mAh for extended run time. The charger is a 2-amp USB-C charger with iD® technology for faster, safer charging.
