The Traxxas Ford Raptor R 4X4 Ultimate is a 1/10 scale electric short course truck, ready to race out of the box. It is rated skill level 2.
The truck wears an officially licensed Ford F-150 Raptor R Clipless Pro Scale body. Molded scale details cover the bumpers, grille, tailgate, side mirrors, and hood vent. LED lighting sits in the front and rear bumpers, and body reinforcements prevent pull-through damage.
Clipless body mounting holds the body tight for intense action. The mounting allows quick and easy removal and gives a smooth appearance with no body posts or clips.
Licensed Ford replica option wheels have a 2-inch outer diameter and a 3-inch inner diameter. They carry licensed BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires with a large 114 mm diameter.
Power comes from a Velineon 540XL sensorless brushless motor. This 4-pole, 2400 Kv motor has a long format and a low-maintenance design. Its shaft measures 5 mm, and the motor connectors are Traxxas 6.5 mm bullet connectors.
The VXL-4s waterproof electronic speed control accepts 2S-4S LiPo (7.4 V - 16.8 V) input. Battery connectors are Traxxas High-Current Connectors. BEC voltage is selectable, 6.0 or 7.4 volts. A large heat sink accepts the accessory cooling fan (3340), and the ports are RX input and an auxiliary fan connector.
Three programmable drive profiles are built in. Sport Mode gives forward, brake, and reverse. Race Mode gives forward and brake. The patented Training Mode gives 50% forward, brake, and 50% reverse.
The speed control also has Traxxas EZ-Set one-button setup, integrated protection circuits, and two-stage thermal shutdown. LED status lights are built in as well.
The TQi 2.4 GHz 2-channel radio system with wireless module is Traxxas Link enabled. Its TQi 2-channel high-power transmitter automatically stores and loads settings for up to 30 Traxxas Link-enabled models. A programmable multi-function knob sits on the transmitter.
The truck has factory-installed telemetry sensors, and real-time telemetry is available via Traxxas Link. A 5-channel micro receiver (6533) with fail-safe security sits in a patented waterproof receiver box with easy-access plug.
Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) improves straight line acceleration and braking on low-traction surfaces. TSM maintains steering composure to allow throttle-on powerslides and never dulls throttle or slows the truck. You adjust it from off to 100% assistance from the transmitter.
Color-matched aluminum suspension parts are made of 6061-T6 aluminum: the C-hubs, steering blocks, and rear hub carriers. The truck also has heavy-duty suspension arms and adjustable 4 mm steel toe and camber links.
Aluminum oil-filled GTR shocks hold 70% more oil than standard Ultra Shocks. They have threaded bodies with adjustable spring collars and TiN-coated shock shafts to reduce friction.
The chassis is an extended modular composite tub design with heavy-duty front and rear shock towers. A secure battery hold-down latch keeps the pack in place, and side nerf bars add impact resistance. The truck runs on sealed ball bearings and uses hex hardware with Rust-Resistant Black Oxide Coating.
The truck has full-time shaft-driven 4-wheel drive with Torque-Biasing Center Drive. Center differential oil is 20-million weight. Differentials are hardened steel bevel, sealed, and limited slip, and the front and rear differentials are oil-filled.
A steel spur gear with 32 pitch and an anodized-aluminum center driveshaft carry the power. The truck also has Maxx-duty driveshafts with an oversize diameter, along with 6 mm axles.
Steering uses a 2275 high-torque waterproof metal-gear servo rated at 347 oz-in @ 6.0 volts. The servo has an aluminum center case with full bearings. A dual bellcrank steering design with integrated servo saver completes the system.
