The Kyosho Mini-Z RWD MR-04 readyset VW Beetle 1966 Model Bahama Blue is an authentic electric small scale R/C car. It can be driven indoors. The car features the MR-04 chassis for the Mini-Z RWD platform, a major evolution from the previous MR-03 model.
As a readyset, it has a factory assembled chassis and a high-quality pre-painted body. The body has its markings and decals applied and is finished to display model standard.
The Beetle is renowned for its rounded form and exceptional durability. It holds the world record for the highest production volume of a single model.
The 1966 model is a milestone version, featuring an enlarged 1.3-liter engine that enhanced its performance. The 1966 Beetle is celebrated as “the most Beetle-like” of all. Worldwide, it is still loved for its perfect balance of classic design and everyday practicality.
The low center of gravity chassis design and high-precision steering deliver overwhelming driving performance. The MR-04 retains the best aspects of the MR-03. The new MR-04 delivers significant performance improvements through its lower center of gravity. The easier control of the MR-04 makes it an ideal introduction to R/C cars.
A new front suspension (No: MZ719) compatible with zero-offset wheels has been adopted. New front knuckles with integrated kingpins reduce scrub by 1.5mm on each side compared to the MR-03. The result is sharper and more linear control. The front suspension dynamically aligns the camber angle with movement of the upper arm. Optimal tire contact is maintained during cornering. A revised caster angle also delivers improved steering response. Ball bearings with a 3mm inner diameter also reduce rotational resistance.
The batteries are mounted lower than in the MR-03, which lowers the center of gravity of the entire chassis. Cornering stability and straight-line handling both improve. A geared differential delivers smooth cornering.
The rear suspension uses a coil spring damper to cushion shocks from the road surface and improve driving stability. The T-bar rear suspension plate holds the entire rear pod, including the motor and rear axle. The plate's flexibility produces an excellent suspension effect. All axles are equipped with low rotational resistance ball bearings as standard. The same size ball bearings are used front and rear for spare parts efficiency. Rear tread can be changed by changing the wheel offset.
The rear suspension can be upgraded to an optional oil-filled shock absorber. Optional parts for the T-bar rear suspension plate are available in FRP and carbon. You can also fit an optional gyro unit for even easier control. Gyro sensitivity is adjusted using the volume on the chassis.
The box includes a 2.4GHz Syncro KT-531P transmitter, which is ultra reliable and multi-function. The transmitter has a steering wheel that mimics the steering wheel of a real car. The throttle (speed control) is a pistol grip. You can adjust the neutral position of steering and throttle with trims. Dual rate adjustment sets the steering angle.
The car can be operated in training mode, which reduces vehicle speed. Training mode is the default setting.

The chassis needs four AAA-size alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, which are not included in the box. The transmitter needs four more AAA-size alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, also not included.
The car is compatible with all bodies for the Mini-Z racer series. A motor case and differential gear assembly suitable for the body are required separately.
