Kyosho Mini-Z RWD MR-04 readyset VW Beetle 1966 Model Ruby Red is an authentic electric small scale R/C car. It is built on the Mini-Z RWD / MR-04 platform and can be driven indoors. The car has the MR-04 chassis, a major evolution from the previous MR-03 model. The MR-04's easier control makes it an ideal introduction to R/C cars.
The chassis is factory assembled. The high-quality body is pre-painted, complete with markings and decals applied, and finished to display model standard.
The legendary Beetle is renowned for its rounded form and exceptional durability. It holds the world record for the highest production volume of a single model. The 1966 model is a milestone version with an enlarged 1.3-liter engine that enhanced its performance. Celebrated as "the most Beetle-like" of all, it continues to be loved worldwide. The love rests on its perfect balance of classic design and everyday practicality.
While retaining the best aspects of the MR-03, the lower center of gravity of the new MR-04 delivers significant performance improvements. The batteries are mounted lower than in the MR-03, lowering the center of gravity of the entire chassis. Cornering stability and straight-line handling are improved.
A new front suspension (No. MZ719) compatible with zero-offset wheels has been adopted. New front knuckles with integrated kingpins reduce scrub by 1.5mm on each side compared to the MR-03. Control becomes sharper and more linear. Front suspension dynamically aligns the camber angle with upper arm movement to maintain optimal tire contact in cornering. A revised caster angle also delivers improved steering response.
The rear suspension uses a coil spring damper to cushion shocks from the road surface and improve driving stability. The T-bar rear suspension plate holds the entire rear pod, including the motor and rear axle. Its flexibility produces an excellent suspension effect.
All axles are equipped with low rotational resistance ball bearings as standard. The change to 3mm inner diameter ball bearings also reduces rotational resistance. The same size ball bearings are used front and rear for spare parts efficiency. A geared differential delivers smooth cornering.
The car comes with an ultra reliable, multi-function 2.4GHz transmitter. The R/C system is Syncro KT-531P. The transmitter has a steering wheel that mimics a real car's steering wheel and a pistol-grip throttle (speed control).
Trims on the transmitter adjust the neutral position of steering and throttle. Dual rate adjustment sets the steering angle. The transmitter can operate in training mode, with a reduced vehicle speed. Training mode is the default setting.
The rear suspension can also be upgraded to an optional oil-filled shock absorber. Optional parts for the T-bar rear suspension plate are also available in FRP and carbon. An optional gyro unit can be fitted for even easier control. Gyro sensitivity is adjusted using the volume on the chassis. Rear tread can be changed by changing the wheel offset.

The car is powered by four AAA alkaline or rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries. These are required and not included in the box. The transmitter needs four AAA-size alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, also not included in the box.
The car is compatible with all bodies for the Mini-Z racer series. A motor case and differential gear assembly suitable for the body are required separately.
