The Kyosho Mini-Z RWD MR-04 readyset McLaren P1 GTR Yellow/Green is an authentic electric small scale R/C car. You can drive it indoors. It is now the standard Mini-Z RWD model. Out of the box, it delivers the full experience of high-performance R/C car racing: the simplicity of Kyosho Readyset packages. The small scale of the Mini-Z Racer suits people just becoming familiar with R/C cars. The easier control of the MR-04 makes it a good introduction to R/C cars.
The P1 GTR was the circuit-spec model introduced to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the McLaren F1 GTR. The P1 GTR's large front splitter, rear wing, air intake snorkel and rear aerodynamic plate are reproduced in fine detail. The Readyset has a high-quality pre-painted body with decals applied and markings, finished to display model standard.
The Readyset runs on the latest high-performance MR-04 chassis, which is renewed and 2-wheel drive. It is the 4th generation MR-04, first released in 2023. Previous Readyset packages used the 3rd generation MR-03 chassis. This standard MR-04 chassis is the same one found in other high-end MR-04 models.
The MR-04 is a major evolution from the previous MR-03 model. It keeps some basic elements of the MR-03 design. A lower center of gravity and remodeled steering design gave the top-of-the-line EVO2 debut model blistering speed and excellent handling. Keeping the best aspects of the MR-03, the new MR-04 delivers significant performance improvements from its lower center of gravity.
The R/C system is mounted on the MR-04 chassis. The car has a user-friendly 130-class brushed motor. High performance comes straight from the standard setup.
The batteries are mounted lower than on the MR-03. The lower mounting lowers the center of gravity of the entire chassis and improves cornering stability and straight-line handling. New front knuckles with integrated kingpins reduce scrub by 1.5 mm on each side compared to the MR-03. The result is sharper and more linear control. The front suspension dynamically aligns the camber angle with upper arm movement, keeping optimal tire contact during cornering. A revised caster angle also improves steering response.
The rear suspension uses a coil spring damper to cushion shocks from the road surface and improve driving stability. The T-bar rear suspension plate holds the entire rear pod, including the motor and rear axle. The plate's flexibility produces an excellent suspension effect. A geared differential delivers smooth cornering.
All axles are equipped with low rotational resistance ball bearings as standard. The front and rear use the same size ball bearings for spare parts efficiency. The change to 3 mm inner diameter ball bearings also reduces rotational resistance.
The R/C system is the Syncro KT-531P, and an ultra reliable multi-function 2.4GHz transmitter comes in the box. The transmitter has a steering wheel that mimics a real car's wheel and a pistol-grip throttle for speed control. Trims adjust the neutral position of steering and throttle, and dual rate adjustment sets the steering angle. The transmitter can operate in training mode with a reduced vehicle speed. Training mode is the default setting.
You can fit an optional gyro unit (MZW711) for even easier control. Gyro sensitivity is adjusted with the volume on the chassis. The car is compatible with a wide range of Mini-Z Racer optional parts. You can tune and enhance it up to elite-level performance.
The rear suspension can be upgraded to an optional oil-filled shock absorber. Optional parts for the T-bar rear suspension plate are also available in FRP and carbon. You can change the rear tread by changing the wheel offset.

For the car, you need four AAA-size alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, which are not in the box. The transmitter also needs four AAA-size alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, which are not in the box.
The separately sold LED light unit set (No.MZW429R) does not fit the McLaren P1 GTR. The car is compatible with all bodies for the Mini-Z racer series. A motor case and differential gear assembly suitable for the body are required separately.
