More info

The Kyosho 1/28 Initial D Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 First Mini-Z RTR is a ready-to-run on-road car. It is a mini-size model on the Mini-Z platform. The box holds one Trueno AE86 with Carbon. The First Mini-Z is different from ordinary toy R/C cars. It is an easy start into real Radio Control for beginners. Those looking to upgrade from toy R/C models are also a good fit.

The car behind the model

The car featured in the popular motorsports manga "Initial D" is realistically reproduced in the Mini-Z. Known affectionately by its model name "Hachiroku" (86), the real car debuted in 1983 and is still loved today. That car has a lightweight body with a responsive naturally aspirated engine. Its FR (front-engine, rear-wheel-drive) layout delivers outstanding cornering performance.

How it drives

The New Real Drive Mechanism gives precise, total control with full directional functionality for smoother driving. Turn the controller's wheel slightly for wide turns or fully for tight ones. Pull the throttle gently for low speeds or all the way for high speeds. Together they give proportional fingertip control with every drive.

Mode Switching lets you change between two speed modes with a single touch. Training Mode (Low) runs at 7 km/h for careful, controlled driving. Race Mode (High) runs at 10 km/h for thrilling high-speed action. Pros can use it too: start slow in Training Mode, master control, then switch to Race Mode.

The digital controller features an industry-first stopwatch (up to 99.99 seconds) for mastering lap times. Set up a custom course for a time attack at home. With 2.4GHz technology, up to 12 cars can race together. The car has a headlight and taillight lighting function when running.

Build and mechanics

The car has an advanced chassis, shock-absorbing independent suspension and high-grip rubber tires. Together they deliver a stable and responsive driving experience that makes every drive a thrill. The body is pre-painted plastic, pre-assembled and display-standard. The drive type is forward/brake/reverse, and the drivetrain is 2WD. The car is electric, powered by a brushed motor.

What's in the box

Six mini pylons come in the box. A radio is also in the box. The car itself is equipped with a receiver, servos and a speed control.

What you still need to buy

You need to supply two AAA batteries for the chassis; they are not included. Two more AAA batteries are required for the transmitter, also not included. The charger is sold separately from the car.
