More info
Kyosho makes the Mini-Z RWD MR-04 readyset JAGUAR XJR-14 No.4 LM 1991. It is an authentic EP (electric) small scale R/C car that you can drive indoors. The small scale of the Mini-Z Racer suits people just becoming familiar with R/C cars. Easier control from the MR-04 makes it an ideal introduction to R/C cars. As a Kyosho Readyset package, it is ready to run out of the box. Driving it gives the full experience of high-performance R/C car racing.
The car behind the body
Jaguar's sports prototype car was often described as "an F1 car with bodywork." Its revolutionary design broke with conventional Group C car thinking. The vehicle made a test entry at the 1991 Le Mans 24 Hours race. There it qualified in 2nd place against more high-powered contenders. This model has a pre-painted body, complete with markings, with decals applied. The body is finished to display model standard.
The MR-04 chassis
The model has a renewed 2-wheel drive chassis at its core. The chassis is the 4th generation MR-04, first released in 2023. Previous Readyset packages used the 3rd generation MR-03 chassis. The MR-04 is a major evolution from the previous MR-03. It retains some basic elements of the MR-03 design and the best aspects of the earlier chassis. The chassis is MR-04W-LM, the same standard MR-04 chassis as other high-end MR-04 models. The MR-04 showed its lower center of gravity and remodeled steering design in the top-of-the-line EVO2 debut model. Together they gave blistering speed and excellent handling. The lower center of gravity of the new MR-04 delivers significant performance improvements. A user-friendly 130-class brushed motor drives the car. High performance comes straight from the standard setup. With its dynamic maneuverability display model finish, the updated MR-04 chassis takes the authentic R/C experience to a higher level.
Handling, suspension and drivetrain
The batteries sit lower than on the MR-03, lowering the center of gravity of the entire chassis. The result is improved cornering stability and straight-line handling. A geared differential delivers smooth cornering. The car has full ball bearing specifications, with low rotational resistance ball bearings on all axles as standard. The same size ball bearings are used front and rear for spare parts efficiency. The change to 3mm inner diameter ball bearings also reduces rotational resistance.
Sharper, more linear control comes from new front knuckles with integrated kingpins. They reduce scrub by 1.5mm on each side compared to the MR-03. Front suspension aligns the camber angle dynamically with upper arm movement to maintain optimal tire contact during cornering. A revised caster angle also delivers improved steering response. The rear suspension uses a coil spring damper to cushion shocks from the road surface and improve driving stability. The T-bar rear suspension plate holds the entire rear pod, including the motor and rear axle. Its flexibility produces excellent suspension effect. You can change rear tread by changing the wheel offset.
The transmitter
The car comes with a 2.4GHz Syncro KT-531P transmitter, an ultra reliable multi-function unit. Its steering wheel mimics the steering wheel of a real car, and the throttle (speed control) is a pistol grip. Trims adjust the neutral positions of steering and throttle, and dual rate adjustment sets the steering angle. Training mode reduces vehicle speed and is the default setting. The Syncro KT-531P is the R/C system mounted on the MR-04 chassis.
Tuning and upgrades
The car is compatible with a wide range of Mini-Z Racer optional parts. You can tune up for elite-level performance and enjoy enhancing your model. An optional gyro unit (MZW711) can be fitted for even easier control. Gyro sensitivity can be adjusted using the volume on the chassis. The rear suspension can be upgraded to an optional oil-filled shock absorber. Optional T-bar rear suspension plate parts are also available in FRP and carbon.

Before you buy
The car requires four AAA-size alkaline or Ni-MH batteries. The transmitter requires four more of the same kind. Neither set is in the box.
The car is compatible with all bodies for the Mini-Z racer series. A motor case and differential gear assembly suitable for the body are required separately. The separately sold LED light unit set (No.MZW429R) does not fit the JAGUAR XJR-14 No.4 LM 1991.
