This Kyosho MINI-Z RWD readyset pairs the current MR-04 chassis with a fully finished DENSO KOBELCO SC430 2012 body, so there's no building or painting standing between you and your first run. The chassis arrives factory assembled, the body comes pre-painted with markings already applied, and the included Syncro KT-531P transmitter rounds out a package that only needs batteries to get moving. That's the appeal of a Kyosho readyset: less setup friction before the first run, more time actually driving.
The MR-04 replaces the older MR-03 platform that ran in previous MINI-Z readysets, and the changes go beyond a name update. New front knuckles with integrated kingpins cut scrub by 1.5mm on each side versus the MR-03, and 3mm inner diameter ball bearings reduce rotational resistance in the front end for a more linear feel through the steering. The four AAA batteries that power the chassis sit lower in the MR-04 than they did in the MR-03, which drops the car's center of gravity and helps with both cornering stability and straight-line tracking. Front suspension geometry adjusts camber angle as the upper arm moves, keeping tire contact more consistent through a corner, and revised caster angle sharpens steering response.
The transmitter itself deserves a mention beyond just being included. The KT-531P lets you trim the neutral position of steering and throttle, adjust steering angle through dual-rate settings, and even drop into a reduced-speed training mode, which is actually the default setting out of the box. That's a nice touch for anyone new to RC cars or just getting used to MINI-Z scale handling before opening things up.
Kyosho also built in some practical flexibility. If you swap to a different body down the line, a front tread adjustment parts set is on hand to match the new body's width, and rear tread can be changed simply by swapping wheel offset. The kit also comes with pinion gears in 6T, 7T, 8T, and 9T sizes, giving you room to adjust gearing without buying extra parts right away. A wheel wrench, pinion gear tool, and spare nuts round out the small tool kit included with the car.
