Kyosho's MINI-Z RWD Series Ready Set Sauber-Mercedes Gruppe-C-Rennsportwagen C9, Nr.62, LM 1988 is a Ready-to-Run set. The RWD series is a rear-wheel-drive platform designed for superior handling, paired with the Syncro KT-531P transmitter. It recreates the 1988 No.62 Sauber-Mercedes C9, sponsored by the German electronics brand AEG. The car is condensed into MINI-Z size, and its form carries the C9's famous circuit board graphics. Kyosho first launched the MINI-Z Racer Sports MR-03 concept in 2013. The RWD series renews that concept, making it more user-friendly and appealing to more drivers.
The Syncro KT-531P transmitter has a stylish design with multiple setting options. These include steering trim, throttle trim, and dual rate adjustment of steering angle. An LED control function and a sponge grip steering wheel add comfortable, precise control. A Training Mode feature limits the car's speed for easy learning, and it is the transmitter's default setting. The newly designed circuit board and control program deliver linear handling characteristics and a dramatically improved steering feel. The front suspension incorporates VCS, which optimizes camber angle with suspension stroke. Its chassis carries a full ball bearing specification of 7 bearings. That was previously an optional upgrade.
The body is highly detailed and factory-finished to display-model standard. Its styling matches the performance, reliability, and durability of the MR-03 chassis. Popular body styles in highly detailed sets make for a realistic model lineup. The chassis is based on the proven MR-03 design. Existing MR-03 parts and the optional gyro unit can be installed to enhance driving control. The car accepts an optional gyro unit, sold separately as No. MZW446 or MZW711, for even easier control. You can adjust the gyro effect's volume on the chassis. Gyro settings can be adjusted from the transmitter if you use the optional KT-432PT transmitter, also sold separately, instead.
The box contains the factory-assembled chassis and the pre-painted plastic body, complete with markings. Together they form the 1/28 scale MINI-Z RWD Sauber-Mercedes C9 No.62 LM 1988 car.
The chassis runs on 4 AAA alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, while the transmitter takes 4 AAA alkaline batteries. Neither battery set is included; both are purchased separately. A charger is also required and sold separately. The Syncro KT-531P transmitter uses FHSS 2.4GHz. It is not compatible with existing ASF, MHS, or FHS 2.4GHz systems.
The car is compatible with all MINI-Z Racer body styles. A motor case and diff gear assembly to suit a different body must be purchased separately. Tread can be set to narrow or wide by changing the steering tie rods. You make this change on the front lower and upper plates. The wheelbase can also be changed to suit body style. Both changes require parts that are purchased separately.
