This is the Kyosho Mini-Z RWD Series Ready Set Sauber-Mercedes Gruppe-C-Rennsportwagen C9, Nr.62, LM 1988. It is a 1/28 scale, ready-to-run electric on-road car in the Mini size, built on the Mini-Z RWD platform. The RWD series is a Rear-Wheel Drive design that emphasizes superior handling paired with the Syncro KT-531P Transmitter.
First launched in 2013, the Mini-Z Racer Sports MR-03 concept has been renewed by Kyosho. The Mini-Z RWD series makes that concept more user-friendly and appealing to more drivers. Sponsored by German electronics brand AEG, the unmistakable 1988 Sauber Mercedes car No.62 is condensed into Mini-Z size. The impressive form of the C9 is emblazoned with its famous circuit board graphics.
The set comes with the newly developed Syncro KT-531P transmitter, which offers multiple setting options. With its stylish design, the transmitter features steering trim and throttle trim. The transmitter also adjusts the steering angle with dual rate and controls the flashing speed of optional LEDs. A sponge grip on the steering wheel gives a comfortable fit for precision control feel. Training Mode is the default setting at shipment and limits the speed of the car for easy learning.
A new control program on the newly designed circuit board gives linear handling characteristics. The new circuit board and its newly developed program dramatically improve steering feel.
The optional gyro unit, sold separately as No. MZW446 or MZW711, is compatible with this car. Once installed, it further enhances driving control, making the car even easier to drive. Gyro effect volume can be adjusted on the chassis. With the KT-432PT transmitter, also sold separately, gyro settings can be adjusted from the transmitter.
The car runs on the MR-03 chassis, a proven design whose existing parts can be installed. Drivetrain is 2WD with gear diffs, and the motor is brushed. Drive type is forward, brake and reverse. Motor mount is LM.
Suspension is independent, with friction shocks. Full ball bearing specifications include 7 bearings, which were previously an optional upgrade. The front suspension incorporates VCS, which optimizes camber angle with suspension stroke.
The highly detailed, display-standard body is fully factory finished. It matches stunning style with the performance, reliability and durability of the MR-03 chassis. The chassis is compatible with all Mini-Z Racer body styles.
Tread can be set to narrow or wide by changing the steering tie rods on the front lower and upper plates. The wheelbase can also be changed to suit the body style. Front wheel offset is +2.7 mm in the narrow setting and +0.8 mm in the wide setting.
The car is 181.0 mm (7.12 in) long, 78.0 mm (3.07 in) wide and 40.0 mm (1.57 in) high. Its wheelbase is 102.0 mm (4.01 in), 3L. Tread is 68.5 mm at the front and 66.0 mm at the rear.
The car arrives with a factory assembled chassis and a pre-painted plastic body, complete with markings. It is equipped with a receiver, servos and a speed control.

The chassis needs 4 AAA-size alkaline batteries or 4 Ni-MH batteries, and they are not in the box. For the transmitter, you need 4 AAA-size alkaline batteries, also not in the box. A charger is sold separately.
A motor case and diff gear assembly to suit the body must be purchased separately. Changing the wheelbase requires parts to be purchased separately. The Syncro KT-531P transmitter uses FHSS 2.4GHz, so it does not fit existing ASF/MHS/FHS 2.4GHz systems.
