This Kyosho Mini-Z car is the MINI-Z RWD Series Ready Set Sauber-Mercedes Gruppe-C-Rennsportwagen C9, Nr.62, LM 1988. It pairs the MINI-Z RWD platform's Rear-Wheel Drive MR-03 chassis with the Syncro KT-531P transmitter for superior handling. The unmistakable 1988 No.62 car, sponsored by German electronics brand AEG, is reproduced with its famous circuit board graphics livery. As a ReadySet, it arrives ready-to-run, with a factory-assembled chassis. Its body is finished to display-model standard, fully factory finished and pre-painted with markings complete. This body matches the performance, reliability, and durability of the MR-03 chassis.
A newly designed circuit board and control program deliver dramatically improved steering feel and linear handling. The Syncro KT-531P transmitter offers steering trim, throttle trim, and dual rate adjustment of the steering angle. It also controls the flashing speed of optional LEDs and has a sponge-grip wheel for precise control. Training Mode is set as the default, limiting the car's speed for easier learning. The chassis features full ball bearings, 7 in total, previously available only as an upgrade. Front suspension uses VCS geometry that optimizes camber angle through the suspension stroke. The chassis is based on the proven Kyosho MINI-Z MR-03 design. Existing MR-03 parts can be installed to enhance control. An optional gyro unit, sold separately as No. MZW446 or MZW711, can be installed for even finer control. Its effect volume adjusts at the chassis, or from the transmitter with the optional KT-432PT, sold separately.
This car is scaled at 1/28 and built as an on-road, Mini-class RC car. It puts power down through a 2WD drivetrain, with forward, brake, and reverse control. Power reaches the wheels through gear-type differentials. Independent suspension and friction-type shocks handle the chassis movement. The motor is brushed and runs on electric power. Its motor mount is coded LM. Radio, receiver, servo, and speed-control electronics are built into the chassis. Overall length is 181.0mm, width is 78.0mm, and height is 40.0mm. Wheelbase measures 102.0mm, coded 3L, with 68.5mm of front tread and 66.0mm of rear tread. Front wheel offset is +2.7mm in the narrow setting and +0.8mm in the wide setting.
The ReadySet box includes the 2.4GHz Perfex KT-531P transmitter used to drive the car. Also in the box are a front suspension adjustment spacer set and a separate front tread adjustment parts set. Spare nuts and a pairing stick are in the box as well. Tires and wheels are in the box too. Four pinion gears are included as well, in 6T, 7T, 8T, and 9T sizes. A wheel wrench and a pinion gear tool are included.
This chassis runs on four AAA alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, sold separately. The transmitter needs four AAA alkaline batteries, sold separately as well. A battery charger is sold separately, too. The Syncro KT-531P transmitter uses FHSS 2.4GHz and will not pair with existing ASF, MHS, or FHS 2.4GHz systems. This chassis fits all MINI-Z Racer body styles, but the matching motor case and diff gear assembly are sold separately. Tread width can be set narrow or wide by changing the front tie rods. Wheelbase can also be changed to match a different body style. Both of those changes require parts that are sold separately.
