More info
Traxxas Stinger 20-Turn Motor 540 Size is a brushed motor built around a 540 can format and a 20-turn wind. Traxxas describes the Stinger as running 30% faster than typical stock motors, giving it a clear performance step up while still keeping the familiar brushed character many RC builders expect from this style of motor.
At the core of the motor, a single thickness of wire is wound 20 times around the armature. That construction is a major part of the Stinger’s blend of speed and torque, and it helps explain why the motor is presented as a balanced choice rather than a one-note speed part. The 540 can size also gives shoppers a practical, familiar footprint to plan around when looking at the motor’s physical size and layout in an electric build.
Stinger motors are straightforward by design, and this 20-turn brushed motor stays focused on the facts that matter most: the wind count, the can size, and the published weight. For anyone comparing brushed motors, those details make it easier to understand what the motor is before it goes into a build. The manufacturer also lists the weight at 5.12 ounces (145 g), which adds another useful specification for setup planning.
Because the Stinger is a brushed motor, it keeps the setup simple in the way this style of powerplant is known for, while still offering a more energetic feel than a typical stock motor. That makes the published specifications especially important. Instead of relying on vague claims, you get a motor with concrete information: a 20-turn brushed design, a 540 can, and a stated weight that helps round out the picture. Those are the details shoppers usually want when choosing a motor for an electric RC build.

Works Well
Great motor for my almost 30-year-old Traxxas Bullet.
Original Motor Lasted
Got this motor with my Traxxas Stampede back in 2003. Used it constantly for around 8 years before it finally gave out. I find it strange people say it doesn't last, maybe Traxxas quality has dropped over the years??
Solid Motor
Good fast brushed motor for your money. Worked well, heat was low.
