More info
The Traxxas TRX-4 Bronco Crawler brings a fully licensed 1979 Ford Bronco body to a proven TRX-4 trail platform, delivering scale looks and real trail capability right out of the box. This RTR is set up for slow, controlled crawling and tougher off-road lines thanks to portal axles, shaft-driven 4WD, and waterproof electronics.
Key Features
- Licensed 1979 Ford Bronco body with scale grille, chrome bumpers, side mirrors, chrome side trim and wipers for an authentic appearance.
- Clear front and side windows plus an authentic decal sheet to finish the stock look.
- Full nylon composite wheel wells and floor pans for lightweight protection; additional scale accessories available separately.
- Trail-tuned XL-5 HV waterproof ESC with a fully sealed design so you can run in wet conditions without worry.
- ESC drive modes include Sport (forward/brake/reverse), Race (forward/brake/no reverse), Training (50% forward/100% brake/50% reverse), Trail (forward/brake/reverse with drag brake) and Crawl (forward/instant reverse with hill-hold brake).
- Traxxas EZ-Set one-button setup, two-stage low-voltage protection, and a large heat sink for reliable performance under load.
- Titan 21T reverse-rotation motor with internal cooling fan for sustained torque and preset gear mesh for proper drivetrain alignment.
- Motor retention designed separately from gear mesh to simplify motor service and adjustments.
- Portal axles raise ground clearance and reduce torque twist while using hardened gear sets for strength.
- Portal axle geometry improves axle alignment and lowers stress on driveshafts for smoother drivetrain operation.
- TQi 2.4 GHz radio system with a 4-channel transmitter and a 5-channel micro receiver (6533) that provides fail-safe and integrated telemetry ports.
- Radio stores settings for up to 30 Traxxas Link enabled models and supports the optional Traxxas Link wireless module for app features (module sold separately).
- Exclusive Cruise Control for long trail runs and adjustable steering and throttle sensitivity and endpoints for precise control.
- Patented waterproof receiver box with an easy-access plug keeps electronics protected on the trail.
- Rigid steel frame with 1.5 mm thick frame rails for better torsional stiffness and four selectable wheelbase positions (300 mm, 312 mm, 324 mm, 336 mm).
- Adjustable rear shock tower positions for short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase setups, fore/aft bumper adjustment, and width-adjustable rock rails with integrated wire routing clips.
- Innovative battery compartment with a hinged strap for fast access, no loose pins to worry about, and room for different battery heights including full-size long packs; an integrated compartment accepts smaller 1/16 scale batteries with an optional strap.
- Secondary front battery tray accepts smaller 1/16 scale batteries with the optional strap for compact power options.
- Drivetrain is full-time shaft driven 4WD with 6 mm stub axles, front CV driveshafts, hardened rear axle shafts, remote-locking differentials actuated by cable, and a strong gear transfer case.
- Transmission features two-speed high/low range with remote shifting, dual horizontal shafts, and a twin friction-plate slipper clutch that is easy to remove for service.
- Steering uses a chassis-mounted 2075X metal-gear digital servo, delivers a 45° steering angle, uses direct steering (no servo saver), and corrects geometry to reduce bump steer.
- Suspension with a front 3-link plus panhard and a rear triangulated 4-link layout, heavy-duty rod ends with hollow balls, and 5 mm diameter link rods with 4 mm threaded ends for reliable articulation.
- Aluminum GTS shocks are oil-filled coilovers exclusive to the TRX-4 chassis, with silver-anodized, threaded bodies and collars to adjust ride height, O-ring cap seal and dual X-ring shaft seals for consistent damping.
- Pre-mounted replica chrome wheels with hub inserts and 1.9" Canyon Trail tires using trail-tuned foam inserts and S1 rubber compound for predictable traction; 12 mm hex hubs provide secure wheel mounting.
- Sealed ball bearings throughout and hex hardware finished with rust-resistant black oxide coating for long-term serviceability.
- Requires battery and charger (sold separately)—this RTR does not include the pack or charger.

About the Brand

Super Versatile Truck
Getting back into RC after a break, the TRX-4 Bronco has been awesome. My previous ride was a Traxxas T-Max nitro, which was fun but kinda tricky to handle. This Bronco is super capable and not intimidating at all. It does a bit of everything - rock crawling, trail adventures, or just messing around in the yard. Heck, let your dog chase it! It's got hi and lo gear settings, plus you can control the diffs: unlocked, front locked, or both locked, all from the remote. With low gear and locked diffs, this thing climbs like a champ. Been using it for a few months now, with no issues. I've tried both a 2S Lipo and a 4200 NimH battery; honestly, for this truck, Lipos aren't needed unless you want a tiny bit more speed in high gear. Overall, this truck is fantastic. If you're not after super speed, it'll do just about anything you want.
