Got this for our Rustler VXL to keep motor temps down. We already had a fan on our ESC but needed more cooling for the motor. First, we put in the RPM hybrid gearbox with the aluminum motor plate to help with heat, then added this heat sink.A heat sink pulls heat away from other stuff. Heat spreads out through the fins, and when you're driving, the air cools them. Pretty basic, really.To install: Take off the rear wheel so you can get to the motor. Remove the motor and slide this on. It's thick metal so you gotta slide it from the side, not just clip it on. Put the motor back, and as you line up the screws, move the heat sink so the motor fits back on the plate. It's easy, takes less than 5 mins, and can prevent you from burning up your brushless motor. Def worth it!! I'd totally recommend this for all Traxxas Velineon 3500 motors.
