More info
The Traxxas Bandit HD w/USB-C is a 1/10 scale buggy built on the Bandit platform. It is Ready-To-Race® and reaches 35+ mph with a 7-cell battery. Skill level 1 makes it a fit for beginners.
Body, chassis and build
The ProGraphix® painted body is pre-painted, with the decals already applied. The body is aggressive and aerodynamic, and it carries a rear wing. The chassis is a tough fiber-composite monocoque with a wide, low-profile design for increased stability. All electronics are securely fastened to the chassis.
Extreme heavy-duty strengthened caster blocks, axle carriers, and steering blocks are installed, along with HD suspension arms. The buggy is assembled with precision hex hardware.
Motor
The buggy runs a Titan® 12T 550, a high-speed brushed motor. This powerful modified motor has an internal cooling fan. An oversized armature gives big torque and increased power handling. Operation is virtually maintenance-free.
The motor weighs 8.47 ounces (240 g). Its overall length is 3.07 inches (78 mm), with a can length of 2.25 inches (57 mm). The diameter is 1.41 inches (36 mm). The shaft size is 3 mm, and the connector type is Bullet.
Speed control
The buggy uses the Waterproof XL-5 ESC with low-voltage detection. This high-performance speed control has an innovative design and runs forward and reverse. Sport Mode gives forward, brake and reverse. Race Mode gives forward and brake. Training Mode™ gives 50% forward, brake and 50% reverse, and it is patented.
Traxxas EZ-Set® one-button setup is built in. The ESC works with LiPo and NiMH batteries, and its low-voltage detection is two-stage. The ESC is a brushed type. Its case size is 1.23 inches (31 mm) / 2.18 inches (55 mm) / 0.61 inches (15 mm). The ESC weighs 2.44 ounces (69 g).
Its motor connectors are Bullet, and its battery connector is a Traxxas High-Current Connector. The power wire is 14 gauge.
Radio and steering servo
The radio system is a TQ™ 2.4 GHz 2-channel radio. The ergonomic transmitter has an internal antenna. The receiver is a Traxxas 6519 3-channel micro receiver with fail-safe security. A sealed watertight receiver box keeps the receiver dry. Steering is handled by a high-torque waterproof Traxxas 2056 servo.
Transmission and driveline
The driveline is 2WD. The Magnum 272™ transmission is brushless-ready and uses metal gears. The differential is a planetary gear design with a steel ring gear. The internal gear ratio is 2.72 (final drive: 12.34), and the gear pitch is 48 pitch.
The buggy has a Torque-Control™ slipper clutch system. The sealed gearbox protects the transmission with a beefed up motor guard. An external gear cover gives easy clutch access. The driveshafts and yokes are heavy-duty telescoping u-joint types.
Steering, suspension and wheels
The high-performance bellcrank system minimizes bump steer. Durable solid camber links eliminate the need for adjustment. Captured rod ends won't pop off. The shocks are fully adjustable, oil-filled Ultra Shocks™ with X-ring technology. The springs are white powder-coated.
The tires are pre-glued Alias® step-pin rear tires and ribbed front tires with performance foam inserts. The wheels are 2.2″ black multi-spoke wheels.
