Ever since I got my T-MAXX 3.3 in '07, I've been eyeing the Slash. I always thought for backyard fun, a 4x4 monster was a must... but this truck changed my mind. I paired it with the Traxxas #6533 (TSM 5 channel) receiver and my TQI 2 channel radio and took it for a spin in the yard. OMG - I'm probably not touching my stampede or T-MAXX 3.3 for a while. With a 5000mah 2S Lipo, it's a bit slower than my tuned T-MAXX 3.3 but omg it runs for ~19 mins of full bashing, jumping, crashing, while the T-MAXX only lasts 10-12 mins. Grab 3 5000mah lipos and you're all set for an endless drive. The platinum's extra parts would cost ~$200 if bought separately, making it a steal if you already own a TX/RX. Plus, with the TQi system and training mode, even beginners can have fun or you can tweak it w/ bluetooth. In regular grass, it handles like a champ, just like my monster trucks. It's fast, brakes well, does doughnuts, and jumps great. It's taken a beating and keeps going - no regrets here. Plus, you can easily convert it to a monster truck if needed. Total blast.

This truck is insanely tough and super fast! With its low center of gravity, it's easily the most stable truck I've driven. I had a Redcat Blackout XTE Pro before, but every time I took it out, something broke – shocks, hubs, differential case, you name it. I'm way rougher on the Slash and it hasn't broken anything! I'm using the stock radio and receiver from the Blackout for now because the platinum comes with upgrades but not the receiver or radio. Even with that, it's still the best RC deal out there! Love it and would buy it again in a sec! PS - The clear shell is awesome, lets you customize it however you want! I found some painting tutorials and had a blast making my own design!
