More info
Traxxas Pro-Built Center Differential replaces the stock slipper clutch to absorb driveline impacts and send power evenly to all four wheels. The unit ships fully assembled and preloaded, so it’s ready to install for drivers upgrading traction and drivetrain durability.
Key Features
- Absorbs driveline shocks to reduce stress on gears and bearings, extending drivetrain life.
- Finned aluminum housing that speeds heat dissipation for cooler operation during hard runs.
- 54-tooth, 32-pitch steel spur gear built for long-lasting strength under aggressive driving.
- Sealed, fully assembled unit preloaded with thick 1,000,000-weight silicone oil to help prevent unloading and front tire ballooning.
- Requires a 32-pitch pinion gear for correct engagement and reliable operation.
Why Choose This Differential
This Pro-Built center differential is designed for hobbyists who want a direct, durable upgrade over a slipper clutch. The finned aluminum case and steel spur gear stand up to heavy use, while the sealed, preloaded oil reduces inconsistent traction and tire ballooning under boost. If you need smoother power distribution and improved drivetrain life, the Traxxas Pro-Built Center Differential is a focused upgrade that delivers performance where it counts.

Customer reviews
Solid after a year
Been using this for over a year with XO-1 differential gears, aluminum drive shaft, and MIP CVD shafts in my Rustler 4x4. Super durable setup! According to the instructions, it comes with 1M weight differential lube straight from the factory.
Really Good
So far so good! Had a few runs over the weekend with my Slash 4x4, 2650kv motor, 4s LiPo. It's holding up to my bashing and seems really well built. It's not just a metal version of the old Platinum Edition center diff, it's a completely new design. Why use a center diff? Well, for wheelie control. It still does wheelie a bit but not as much. Comes w/ 1 Million weight fluid, which works great. Surprisingly, it still allows for diff action despite the thick fluid. For less powerful setups, you might wanna switch to thinner fluid.Cons: It's pricey for what it is. I hesitated for a while before buying... hoping the price drops soon.
Awesome grip for Stampede
Put this on my kid's Stampede VXL 4x4 using a 3S battery. My kid thinks it's faster now, but really, it's just got better control. It still wheelies but the acceleration is much smoother. I thought about using lighter oil to cut down the wheelies, but it's working great as is. Definitely better than using the spring-loaded diff!
