More info
The Traxxas Center Differential Kit transfers power independently to the front and rear differentials so your rig delivers smoother power under rough conditions and holds higher corner speed. The unit comes sealed and ready to install, and it’s tunable by changing differential fluid to suit loose surfaces, hardpack, or high-speed runs.
Key Features
- Splits torque front-to-rear independently for smoother traction and better cornering stability.
- Sealed differential housing protects internals from dirt and debris while retaining fluid for consistent operation.
- Tunable feel by using different fluid viscosities so you can dial handling for trails or tight turns.
- Comes fully assembled and ready to install to minimize setup time after a service or upgrade.
- Includes 50-T, 52-T, and 54-T spur gears for quick gearing changes and experimentation.
- Requires a 32-pitch pinion gear for proper mesh and compatibility.
What's Included
- Pre-assembled center differential unit
- 50-T spur gear
- 52-T spur gear
- 54-T spur gear
Why Choose This Differential
This center differential kit is ideal for hobbyists who want a simple, effective way to improve traction and handling without a lengthy installation. It’s a practical upgrade for tuners and racers who adjust gear ratios and diff fluids to match changing track or trail conditions.

Must-Have for Racing
I got this when I turned my Slash 4x4 MT (HCG) into an STRC LCG Slash 4x4 race rig. You need it for any track racing. The center diff smooths out power way better than the slipper. I was surprised at how much it helps with high-speed corners. If you’re racing, get it. If you’re just bashing around, you probably don't need it. Center diffs really kill wheelies. With one installed, no more wheelies. But on 2S in a Slash with 2.2, wheelies aren't easy anyway LOL. It’s essential if you spend time at the track!
Perfect Fit
You'll need a 32 pitch 0.8 pinion for this setup, but it works great!
Great on Soft Dirt
Installing this was easy. Just take out the slipper clutch, screw the spur gear onto the center diff, and pop it in where the slipper was. For performance, it's awesome on soft dirt or sand. It's a must for track racing. If you're just bashing, you might not want this, as it kills wheelies and sends power to the front, even with heavy diff fluid. Heard 3s lipos can break these pretty fast. If you're crawling, steer clear, since the open diff can cause power loss on low traction wheels. But for racing on soft surfaces or dirt tracks, it's great. Helps with power slides too. Can't complain for the price. Cliff notes: Bashers, skip it. Racers, get it.
