Stock Power Only

So... I put the new shaft in and it lasted about 10 mins before breaking, just like the old one. I think it might be bc I added a slipper clutch eliminator kit, a robinson racing 40t steel spur gear, and a 16t clutch bell. This is on a revo 3.3 nitro, but I've swapped the stock 3.3 engine with a 5.2 LRP big block that makes like 4.5 hp and probably around 5 ft lbs of torque... The thing flies when it gets traction, but doesn't wheelie over. Maybe it's not fair to say the shaft can't handle any torque at all since it did fine with the 3.3 motor the whole time I had it stock. Wish they made a tougher steel one for big blocks. Anyway, it's fine for stock motors and should last a while, but if you're putting a big block on your revo and wanna launch hard, make sure your slipper clutch is loose or try a 42t spur with a 13t clutch bell so you don't stress the gearbox like you would with a taller gear ratio. Or just run it in soft dirt so it doesn't catch too much traction at WOT. Avoid fresh blacktop if you want it to last a few tanks... Eric Leadfoot, (Traxxas Revo with big block conversion and a .32 LRP spec 4 motor, slipper eliminator, 40t hard steel spur and 16t hard clutch bell, with light flywheel and 3 shoe aluminum clutch setup...)
